    (December 23, 1918-December 31, 2000)
Born in Montorio nei Frentani, Italy
Birth name was Costanzo Jose Greco
    Flamenco dancer
Best known number was 'El Corjito' ('Dance of the Horseman')
Appeared in the films 'Manolete' (1948), 'Sombrero' (1953), 'Around the World in 80 Days' (1956), 'Ship of Fools' (1965) and 'The Proud and the Damned' (1972)
He was usually described as a Spanish dancer, but he was born in Italy and raised in Brooklyn.
Earlier in his career, he made ends meet by running tickets for a Broadway scalper.
Dance critic Peter Williams wrote, 'He excels in all numbers that need a lot of stamping, but seems rather lost when it comes to anything more subtle.'
He came out of retirement well past his prime to perform in a dance company founded by his children.
He admitted, 'I had a lot of turkeys in my choreographic life.'
He was named New Broadway Personality of the Year (1952).
He gave Spain's greatest dancers wider exposure by inviting them to guest star with his dance company.
    He was knighted by Spain.
He said the secret of his success was 'The men wanted to be me and the women wanted to have me.'
