    (1972- )
Spokesfrog for Kellogg's Honey Smacks (formerly Sugar Smacks from 1953-83)
Briefly retired in 1986 - Replaced by Wally the Bear
Brought back by popular consumer demand in 1987
Slogans include 'Gimmie a Smack and I'll Smack you back,' 'They're Honey Smackin' good,' 'I Dig'em' and 'Satis-Smack-tion'
Kellogg's went through many spoke characters before settling on Dig 'em.
In order: Various clowns from 1953-56, Smaxey the Seal from 1957-60, Quick Draw McGraw from 1961-64, Smackin' Bandit (half mule, half kangaroo) in 1965, Smackin' Brothers (kids in boxing shorts) from 1966-71 and an Indian chief right before Dig 'em's debut.
During the 80s and 90s the cereal went from Sugar Smacks to Honey Smacks to just Smacks back to Honey Smacks. (how can we Dig 'em if we don't know what we're digging?)
The new millennium saw his image tweaked; his cap is now sideways and his clothes are baggier for a hip-hop image.
For some unknown reason he was called Charly in Switzerland during the 1970s.
Even with a brief retirement he has by far lasted longer than any other spokes character for Sugar/Honey Smacks.
The reasoning for the 1986 switch was a bear character (Wally) would be more identifiable with honey, but the public demanded the frog back and Kellogg's caved in.
The 1990s brought him a nemesis, Kitty, but he always outsmarted the hapless cat so the nemesis was phased out.
His Kellogg's longevity tenure is only surpassed by Snap! Crackle! and Pop!, Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam and Sunny the Sun.
A Family Guy episode featured Mayor Adam West in a scandal for authorizing a giant gold statue of Dig 'em being built and displayed at city hall.
