    (October 24, 1930-February 3, 1959)
Birth name was Jiles Perry Richardson
    Sang 'Chantilly Lace'
Died in a plane crash with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens
    He was overweight.
He didn't like the name 'Jiles,' so he changed it to 'Jape' (some improvement).
He used goofy catch phrases like 'Oh baby, that's what I like!' and 'Helloooooo, baby!'
He once set a record for continuous DJ'ing (6 days, 6 nights).
He asked Waylon Jennings for his seat on Buddy Holly's airplane - which saved Jennings' life.
He died while suffering from the flu.
He didn't live to meet his second child.
His career was just taking off (no pun intended) when he died.
