Why she might be annoying:

    When dramatist John Osborne was looking for a 'plain girl' for a role in 'The Changeling,' her brother told Rita, 'Have a go, you're ugly enough.'
    She was so little known that she was almost banned from the showing of 'A Taste of Honey' at the Cannes Film Festival.
    A scene in 'Straight on 'til Morning' (1972) where she beautifies herself for her boyfriend was called 'the ugliest makeover in screen history' by one critic.
    She is a vegetarian.
    She was married and divorced twice.
    She said, 'I never like seeing myself [on screen]. I absolutely hate it -- have from day one.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    When she was seven, she was run down by a car, injuring her neck and head.
    For her film debut in 'A Taste of Honey,' she won Best Actress at Cannes and was named Most Promising Newcomer by both BAFTA and the Golden Globes.
    She was an icon of 'Swinging London' in the '60s.
    She is a prominent support of Cancer Research UK's Relay for Life.
    She has very expressive eyes.
    She said, 'There's one great advantage in looking the way I do. I just grow more interesting with age. Just think how terrible it must be for all those dolly birds worried sick about losing their looks.'
