Victim

The Resume

    (September 20, 1961-October 16, 1996)
    Born in Maryland
Birth name was Sharon Rina Denburg
    Lived in Hampstead, Maryland
Advertised on the Internet for someone willing to torture and kill her to achieve sexual gratification
Found that person in the form of a North Carolina computer analyst named Robert Glass
Desire fulfilled in the trailer home of Glass where she was killed and buried near the trailer at age 35
Case drew wide publicity over consensual homicide via Internet chat rooms

Why she might be annoying:

She pissed off her strict Orthodox Jewish parents by marrying a Catholic (her husband said it was her way of 'breaking away').
Her Internet business went from selling psychic readings and advice to selling her worn panties and videos of unconscious women, willing and unwilling, having sex.
Her chat room personas included a 300-pound dominatrix, a 5 foot 6 beauty queen and an actress named Nancy Carlson.
She told her husband she was going to Georgia to visit friends and instead went to Glass and received her ultimate wish.
Police arrested Glass after checking e-mail messages and found her remains just yards from his trailer in a shallow grave.
Murder charges were reduced to voluntary manslaughter for which Glass received 36 to 53 months (and 21 to 26 months more for a child porn rap).

Why she might not be annoying:

Her death brought to the forefront issues concerning deviant sexual behavior and the impact the Internet has on such activity.
She left a note for her husband stating she was going to be killed and that 'if my body is never retrieved, don’t worry: know that I’m at peace.'
Glass testified he never meant to kill her but only to help her achieve auto eroticism though sexual strangulation (edge play) but went too far.
Two weeks before his scheduled release from prison Glass had a heart attack and died (February 20, 2002).
