    (April 10, 1961-May 18, 2003)
Headed a one-woman campaign to educate youth about the dangers of smoking
She started smoking when she was 12.
When she lost her hair, she resembled Susan Powter. Her presentation personality was similar to Powter’s as well.
She has an ironic last name.
Even after her cancer diagnosis, she could not stop smoking.
She continued to smoke as she was being treated for her advanced stage of cancer.
    She modeled in her teens.
After her diagnosis, she actively spoke to young people at high schools all over Canada to speak against smoking and the tobacco industry.
Her powerful speeches prompted teens to turn over their packs of cigarettes and to quit smoking literally after her presentations.
The same speeches prompted parents of teenagers to quit smoking.
    Her twin sons predeceased her.
Close to her death, her cancer literally spread all through her body and penetrated her skull and bones.
By the time she died, she had spoken to a total of 50,000 young people.
Her namesake foundation was set up to continue educating youth of the dangers of tobacco consumption.
She received a posthumous Meritorious Service Medal of Canada award from Canada’s Governor General for her work.
She left behind a young daughter and a husband.
