The Resume

    (July 3, 1963- )
Born in Croydon, London, United Kingdom
    Painter/photographer/conceptual artist
Member of the Young British Artists movement
Best known works are 'Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995' (1997) and 'My Bed' (1999)
Named a Royal Academician by the Royal Academy of Arts (2007)

Why she might be annoying:

At 18, she was pregnant with twins, then had an abortion because she was worried about her parents' reaction.
She called attending the Royal Academy of Art a negative experience and destroyed most of her work from that time.
During a TV discussion about the Turner Prize, she appeared drunk, swore, insulted the other panelists, and walked off the show (1997).
'My Bed' consists of her unmade bed festooned with debris such as used condoms and her underwear with menstrual blood stains.
After collector Charles Saatchi bought 'My Bed' for £150,000, her ex-boyfriend said that he had an old bed of hers that he would sell for the bargain price of £20,000.
She recorded a duet with Boy George (2008).
The flyers that she put up when her cat was lost were collected by people as a work of art.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was raped when she was 13.
She does not list her missing cat poster on her resume, suggesting that she is more rational about her art than some of her fans.
Prominent collectors of her art include Elton John, George Michael and Orlando Bloom.
She has donated artworks to children's charities, AIDS charities and The Independent's Christmas Appeal.
She was one of twelve British artists chosen to design posters for the 2012 London Olympics.
When several of her works, including 'Everyone I Have Ever Slept With,' were destroyed in a warehouse fire (2004), she noted, 'The news comes between Iraqi weddings being bombed and people dying in the Dominican Republic in flash floods, so we have to get it into perspective.'
