Why he might be annoying:

His name is difficult to spell.
He studied Marx and Lenin in school and became a 'Marxist socialist.'
He was elected to Parliament while in prison.
He was authoritarian and legalized imprisonment without trial for people that were considered security risks.
He turned Ghana into a one-party state and developed his own personality cult.
His development plans were so expensive and ruinous that the economy was soon crippled by foreign dept, corruption and labor unrest.

Why he might not be annoying:

He earned advanced degrees in the United States and England.
To push for Ghanaian self-government he encouraged non-violence, strikes, and non-cooperation with the British authorities.
He inspired other colonies in Africa to fight for independence.
He was a supporter of African political and ethnic unity.
After being overthrown in a military coup, he sought refuge in Guinea and was given an honorary position as co-President.
