The Resume

    (June 13, 1945- )
    Born in San Antonio, Texas
Birth name was Louis Whitley Strieber
Wrote the horror novels ‘Wolfen’ (1978), ‘The Hunger’ (1981), ‘The Last Vampire’ (2001) and ‘Lilith’s Dream’ (2002)
Wrote ‘Communion’ (1987) about his alleged abduction by aliens

Why he might be annoying:

He co-authored ‘Catmagic’ (1986) with practicing witch Jonathan Barry, but later admitted that Barry was fictitious.
He wrote two books about nuclear war and two about environmental apocalypse.
Despite its title, his ‘Communion’ follow-up ‘Confirmation’ (1998) did not confirm the existence of UFOs or alien abductions.
He claimed to have been visited by a mysterious ‘Master of the Key,’ who provided him with revelations on the environment and spirituality (June 6, 1998).

Why he might not be annoying:

He admits that the visit by the Master of the Key and the events of ‘Communion’ may have occurred only in his mind.
Before becoming a free-lance writer he rose to the vice-presidency of an ad agency.
Babylon 5 named a race of aliens after him, the Striebs.
