The Resume

    Mike Jones and Aia Cooper
    Chicago residents
Arrived at their local precinct station, The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, for early voting at the same time President Barack Obama was making an appearance aimed at encouraging supporters to vote early (Oct. 21, 2014)
While leaving the ballot box, Jones joked 'Mr. President don't touch my girlfriend!' causing an awkward interaction with Cooper and the President
Received coverage on CNN, The Daily Mail, The Young Turks, NBC News, and CBS Chicago
Named 'Donkey of the Day' by The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne Tha God

Why they might be annoying:

CNN publicized the incident as a 'Presidential love triangle' (that's a stretch...)
'Mr. President don't touch my girl?' That sounds like an idea for a Jay-Z song.
Anyone who took Jones literally would probably think that he confused Obama with the Democrat President before him.
Aia admitted to initially being annoyed at/embarrassed of at Mike for making the joke, even apologizing to the President for him.
The President jokingly clapped back at Jones with 'Really wasn't planning on it. There’s an example of a brother just embarrassing me for no reason, just for no reason whatsoever!'
After marking their ballots, the two shared a peck on the cheek to, as the President said, 'give him something to talk about about, [so] now he'll really be jealous.'
Google searches for their actual name tends to turn up results related to a a Houston-based rapper and a Linebacker for the Oakland Raiders.

Why they might not be annoying:

Any politico who thought Jones was serious needs to have their head examined.
They claimed to not have known that the President was going to be at the community center.
If they really didn't, talk about citizenship - who the hell does early voting for midterms?
The amount of attention they received resulted in many zeroing in on Aia's physical appearance.
For example, Charlamagne Tha God repeatedly dissed her as 'dead regular' and 'not the kind of pretty you get impeached over.'
Mike Jones would say in later interviews that he only said what he said to make his girlfriend feel 'at ease' (obviously nervous about being so close to the first black President).
Jones also told the Daily Mail, 'It was so silent in there and everyone was just taking pictures I figured I had to say something to make people laugh.'
They shared a romantic and memorable moment together (it was also the one apolitical 'pretty bow' on a disastrous electoral year for the Democrats).
