Why he might be annoying:

He was a chain smoker.
He was paranoid that everyone was plotting against him.
Despite being known as a 'great warrior,' he fled the field of battle (1948).
He resigned from the office of prime minister after several financial scandals (1977).
He helped build Jewish settlements in Palestinian territory, increasing hostility between Israelis and Palestinians.
He referred to the Oslo Peace Accords as 'the bastard child I was forced to adopt.'
He was never very popular with the Israeli people until after his assassination.

He helped create the Oslo Peace Accords, which granted Palestinian control over the West Bank and Gaza Strip (1993).
He shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Yasser Arafat (1994).
He was seen as advancing the cause of peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
He was murdered by a right-wing fanatic opposed to his concessions to Palestinians (1995).
Bill Clinton said of him after his death: 'The world has lost one of its greatest men - a warrior for his nation's freedom and now a martyr for his nation's peace.'
