    She ended up with bronze at the 2008 Olympics in spite of being favored and holding the lead until the final stretch.
    She has endorsement deals with such companies as BP, Citibank and Nike.
    A Nike ad she appeared in was mocked by The Onion in an article under the headline 'No One Knows Who Female Star Athlete In Nike Commercial Is.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    How many families can say they have both Olympic gold medal winners and Super Bowl champions?
    She was able to overcome her 2008 disappointment and win gold in the 400m at the 2012 Olympics. Later on, she anchored the gold medal-winning women's 4x400 meter relay team that won by over three seconds.
    She won Track and Field News' female athlete of the year in 2006 and 2009.
    In 2005 she was named Visa's Humanitarian of the Year.
