Why he might be annoying:

He caused controversy by reading from the bible in a live television broadcast from Lunar orbit on Christmas Eve. This resulted in NASA advising astronauts not to conduct religious acts while on a mission.
His fellow astronauts called him as 'No Nonsense Borman.'
He had a reputation as being too serious at times.
He carried on with his career as an astronaut despite the extreme stress his wife suffered during his years at NASA.

Why he might not be annoying:

As a child, he suffered from numerous sinus problems.
He could fly a plane at age 15.
He is the grandfather of former Duke basketball player Andy Borman.
He commanded the first mission to rendezvous in space with another craft.
He commanded the first mission to leave Earth orbit and enter Lunar orbit.
One of his hobbies is rebuilding World War II aircrafts.
