    His nickname is 'Miro'
Played professional soccer for Germany's Bundesliga (1997-2011) and Italy's Serie A
Played for the Germany National team from 2001-2014

Why he might be annoying:

He lacks the personality of his more celebrated German countrymen like Franz Beckenbauer, Lothar Matthaus, Juren Klinnsmann and Michael Ballack.
He committed two yellow-card fouls in a group stage match against Serbia in the 2010 World Cup and was expelled from that game and the following match.
His booting off allowed Serbia to win 1-0 and gave Germany its first loss in a World Cup group stage match since 1986.
He is a devout Roman Catholic who even met Pope Benedict once.
He often does a front flip whenever he scores a goal. It's been called the 'Salto-Klose.'
He has only scored three total goals at the European Championships.
He, along with five of his teammates, did a 'Gaucho Dance' at Germany's victory party where they mocked their Argentinian World Cup Final rivals.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born to a German father who was a professional soccer player himself and helped him defect from Poland when he was eight.
He has had an excellent international career scoring a total of 71 goals and earning 137 caps.
He scored a hat-trick against Saudi Arabia in his first World Cup game (2002).
He had a big part in Germany's 7-1 win over Brazil in the 2014 World Cup semifinal where he not only scored the second goal but broke Ronaldo's career World Cup goals record with Ronaldo watching in the stands.
After he handballed a goal against Napoli, he admitted it to the referee who disallowed the goal even though his team lost 3-0.
His last international match was the World Cup final where he fulfilled a childhood dream of lifting the Cup.
