His son is named Sheaffer and his daughter GG (Georgia Garland).
The majority of his audience tends to be, at its youngest, 50-somethings.
He has put out albums and CDs consisting entirely of gospel music.
Some of his jackets look like the top half of a 70s leisure suit.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has an extensive instrumental background, almost all of it self-taught.
The genre in which he normally sings is little more than good clean innocent mindless fun.
He performs some 350 shows a year at the Jim Stafford Theater in Branson.
His children seem very comfortable performing alongside him.
He co-hosted Those Amazing Animals with Burgess Meredith and Priscilla Presley.
