The Resume

    (July 30, 1946- )
    Birth name is Jeffrey Hammond
    Jethro Tull bassist (1971-1975)
Played on ‘Aqualung,’ ‘Thick as a Brick,’ ‘A Passion Play,’ ‘War Child’ and ‘A Minstrel in the Gallery’

Why he might be annoying:

Ian Anderson persuaded him to change his last name from ‘Hammond’ to ‘Hammond-Hammond.’
He wore a black-and-white striped outfit.
He played a black-and-white striped bass, too.
When he joined Jethro Tull, he described himself as ‘technically ignorant.’
Ian Anderson liked him so much that he named three songs after him: ‘A Song for Jeffrey,’ ‘Jeffrey Goes to Leicester Square’ and ‘For Michael Collins, Jeffrey and Me.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He is an accomplished painter and has created over 100 works of art.
He did not design any of his band’s album covers.
He left Jethro Tull because painting mattered to him more than music.
After he quit the band, he burned all of his outfits.
