    Wrote the children's books 'Uh Oh! Gotta Go' and 'Oops! Excuse Me Please!'
    He became a teen idol in Japan by singing Irish folksongs in Japanese.
    He was reluctant to audition for 'Sesame Street' because he did not want to be part of a children's show.
    He asked that his character also be named Bob because he figured he would respond faster to his own name.
    He rarely watches 'Sesame Street.' ('It's hard to watch at 7 or 8 in the morning. Night time after dinner is when we watch TV.')
    He grew up in a house without electricity.
    He and his wife Ann have been married for over 50 years.
    He was a featured tenor on Mitch Miller's 'Sing Along with Mitch' program (1959-64).
    He has been a fixture for over 30 years on Saskatchewan's Telemiracle telethon.
    He is an advocate for music education for children.
    He said, 'Knowing the impact that Sesame Street has had on millions of kids all over the world has to be the most gratifying that anyone could possible hope for.'
