Why he might be annoying:

    Despite promising to retire after losing to Triple H at No Way Out 2000, he wrestled in the main event at Wrestlemania 2000.
    At one point, his finisher in the WWF involved choking his opponent with a sock puppet named 'Mr. Socko.'
    He once allowed his family to sit at ringside to watch a match he had against the Rock as he received multiple chair shots to the head.
    He did commercials for Chef Boyardee.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is known for being a brutal wrestler, showing no regard for his body.
    He is known for giving some of the best interviews in the history of professional wrestling.
    At a match against Vader in Germany, he lost his right ear due to tension from tightened ring ropes.
    His many injuries also include six concussions, 54 stitches in his left arm, second degree burns on his shoulder and arm, six broken ribs, 300 stitches on various parts of his body, four missing front teeth and thousands of thumb tack holes.
    In a 'Hell in a Cell' match against the Undertaker, he was thrown sixteen feet from the top of the cage, through the Spanish announcers' table and onto the floor.
    Despite being advised by everyone to give up, he got off from his stretcher, and continued fighting, where he was eventually choke slammed twice through the cage, one of those times into a pile of thumb tacks.
    He returned to wrestle a mere two days later.
    At one point in the WWF, he alternated wrestling as Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love.
    His books 'Have a Nice Day' and 'Foley is Good' both reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list.
    He was the first wrestler to appear as a guest on the Howard Stern show.
    He retired from professional wrestling in 2000 at the age of 34 due to the beating his body has taken over the years.
    He contributes his time to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
