Why he might be annoying:

He said, ‘I’m always playing rather strange characters because I look strange.’
When an earthquake struck Los Angeles, he rushed home from the DS9 set without removing his makeup, which ‘scared the living shit out of people.’
He often meets DS9 fans who want to rub his ears (a major Ferengi erogenous zone): ‘That sometimes gets a little embarrassing.’
In the credits for ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ his name is misspelled ‘Shimmerman.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He received advice from Ron Perlman on how to emote effectively while buried under prosthetics and makeup.
He said he was the only main cast member not to take something from the set after the final season wrapped: ‘I didn’t want my memories of the show to be spoilt by seeing the destruction of the set.’
He did an impromptu reading from Shakespeare’s ‘Henry IV’ at a Las Vegas ‘Star Trek’ convention that drew a standing ovation from the audience.
