Wrestler

The Resume

    (July 15, 1942- )
    Birth name is Aaron Rodriguez
Former Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion, NWA Americas Champion
Wrestled for EMLL, UWA, the NWA, JWA, APW, WWE (Then known as the WWWF) and several Mexican promotions
Known as 'The Man of 1,000 Masks'

Why he might be annoying:

He was known to have a massive ego and would refuse to put certain guys over cleanly or sell for them.
He would book the latest flights possible so he wouldn't have to sit around the arena to wait for his match. He would even arrive a half hour before a show started.
When the wrestling business boomed in the 80's, promoters were doing enough business without him and figured that they didn't need his ego backstage, so he was mostly fazed out of the business.
His moves looked sloppy and weak because he would usually land on his hands and ass when applying a back breaker.
Like most masked Mexican wrestlers, he never showed himself without his mask and he wouldn't appear in Madison Square Garden until the arena's ban on masked wrestlers was lifted.
When the International Wrestling Association was formed, the promoter made Mil the company's first champion without having to wrestle for the belt. He even went around defending the belt after the company folded.
Like his mentor and idol El Santo, he starred in many campy horror Mexican films that are for the most part pretty awful and forgettable.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is a Mexican wrestling legend and one of the most influential wrestlers to come out of that country.
He had tremendous skills in high-flying and technical mat-based wrestling and they made for a lethal combination.
He is credited with popularizing many of the high-flying moves used today, such as the plancha, the tope and the suicide dive. Countless wrestlers including the original Tiger Mask name him as a major influence.
He was the first masked wrestler to compete in Madison Square Garden.
He was named Most Popular Wrestler of the Year in PWI in 1975.
He's in the Wrestling-Observer Hall of Fame.
