    Born in Nanyuki, Kenya
    Raised in South Africa
    He went to boarding school.
    He sported a shaggy beard.
    He was a white man who led South Africa's Black Trade Union Movement.
    His cause of death is disputed.
    He became an anti-apartheid activist after witnessing the dire surroundings of all-black Tembisa Hospital.
    He was detained for seventy days without any charges against him.
    A fellow detainee witnessed Aggett being dragged to his jail cell bloody and beaten.
    In 1995, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission determined him to be the victim of police torture.
