Why he might be annoying:

    He rarely wrote anything other than horror books about sea creatures.
    His novel, 'Jaws,' and it's subsequent film adaptation scared many people out of the water.
    He stereotyped sharks as mindless man-eaters.
    He unwittingly launched the career of Lorraine Gary.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was left handed.
    He was a Harvard graduate.
    He was the grandson of famous humorist Robert Benchley.
    He was one of the foremost activists for the protection and study of sharks (how ironic).
