Why he might be annoying:

    His middle name is Dickran.
He nurses an obsessive devotion to his father's Chipmunk characters to the point of coming off as unintentionally creepy.
He and his wife sued Universal Pictures for breach of contract, claiming that the studio 'failed to properly utilize, market, and merchandise the characters' after the initial licensing agreement. The case was decided in his favor (2000).
Commenting on the lawsuit later, he said: 'For us, it was a custody battle. They finally realized - OK, these two are really fighting for their kids.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He got his start in the industry helping his father to edit episodes of The Alvin Show.
He secured the Chipmunks a major comeback by producing the 'Chipmunk Punk' album, which became the novelty's first gold record.
He has a healthy forty year marriage with wife Janice Karman, who has been equally devoted to promoting the Chipmunk brand.
After his father died, he not only took over the production company but also the voicing of the Chipmunks (Alvin and Simon) before the audio was sped up.
He said: 'I revered my dad, but I didn't want to do what he had done. [The Chipmunks were] his creation. Had he remained alive, I never would have done this. But when he passed away suddenly, it was a way of keeping my dad alive, and keeping what he created alive.'
