BA in philosophy from the University of Chicago where he was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, The Chicago Maroon
Won John W Campbell Award in 2005 for Best New Writer
Won Hugo Awards for Best Fan Writer and Best Related Book
Winner of the Geffen Award, an Israeli science fiction award
