TV Series
    (August 26, 2003-November 11, 2003)
    Aired on 'ESPN'
    Omar Gooding as Demetrius Harris
Marcello Thedford as Kelvin 'Buffalo' James
    Christopher Wiehl as Derek McConnell
Jason Matthew Smith as Eric Olczyk
    Russell Hornsby as Leon Tayler
Anthony George Denison as Coach George
A chronicle of the gritty life of professional football stars outside of the field
It was cancelled after only one season, not because of poor ratings, but pressure from the 'NFL.'
It was criticized for being predictable and sensationalist.
Its storylines included rumors of homosexuality in the players.
It probably was uncomfortable for fans of football to watch.
In some of the first episodes, Jason Matthew Smith's character wore a jersey with his name misspelled.
It gave 'ESPN' a (short) chance to do original programming.
Several players spoke out and agreed with the accuracy of the lifestyles of the characters.
It received acclaim from TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly.
After the show was cancelled, some of the writers went to write a similar video game, called 'Blitz: The League.'
