    Nicknamed 'Lady Whirlwind,' 'Lady Kung Fu' and 'the femaile Bruce Lee'

Why she might be annoying:

    In most of her films, she followed the same story arc, going from an obedient daughter or sister to a one-woman revenge squad.
    She lost custody of her daughter to her first husband, actor Kelly Lai Chen, when they divorced (1980).
    She has been reluctant to give interviews since leaving acting.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She credited her success in martial arts and acting to her training as a child at a Peking Opera school: 'That is the hardest thing you can do.'
    She was the first female kung fu star to receive above-the-title billing.
    She said, 'How famous was I? When I was a somebody, Jackie Chan was a nobody.'
    After retiring from acting, she moved to New York City and ran a series of restaurants with her family.
