    Birth name was Ralph Hubert Barger
    Founder of the Oakland, California, chapter of the Hell's Angels
    Featured in Hunter S. Thompson's 'Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs'
    He was repeatedly suspended from school for fighting with students and assaulting teachers.
    He admits to doing cocaine and dealing heroin.
    He smoked three packs of cigarettes a day.
    He served four years in federal prison for conspiring to blow up the headquarters of a rival biker gang (1988-92).
    When the Hell's Angels stabbed a man to death at the Rolling Stones' notorious Altamont concert (1969), he pulled a pistol on Keith Richards and 'told him to start playing his guitar or he was dead.'
    When he was four months old, his mother ran off with a bus driver, leaving him behind with an alcoholic father.
    He lost his vocal cords to throat cancer (1982).
    He markets his own beer, Sonny's Mean & Lean Lager.
    He said, 'While most of us merely dream of it, I pursued that lifestyle -- choosing freedom over restraint, facing danger without fear.'
