Photo tweeted by Bush spokesman Jim McGrath of him sadly lying before President Bush's flag-draped casket went viral on social media (Dec. 2018)
Photo was covered by CNN, People Magazine, Inside Edition, Fox News and Time Magazine

Why he might be annoying:

He has an Instagram.
Hey, its totally possible he was just napping and didn't even know who was in the casket right? (nah!)
He was the subject of an angry Slate article entitled 'Don’t Spend Your Emotional Energy on Sully H.W. Bush.'
While (rightly) panned as unnecessarily mean-spirited, the Slate piece did make the point that the viral photo gives the impression that he was the late President's lifelong companion, when in reality he had been with him for six months.

Why he might not be annoying:

His Instagram bio reads: 'A kinder, gentler labrador.'
He is named after hero pilot Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger.
His middle initials are H.W. (Herbert Walker presumably?)
He was given to President Bush to deal with the effects of Parkinson's Disease, but also to cope with the loss of his wife Barbara.
In the short time he was with Bush, the two were inseparable and he was described as 'his best friend.'
The buzz generated around the photo was a unifying moment and had everybody (we mean EVERYBODY) heartsick about what was going to happen to him after the burial.
He reportedly is slated to go back to doing work as a service dog with veterans (not a bad fate necessarily, but you mean to tell us that Dubya or Jeb couldn't use a nice yellow lab around the house at Walker's Point?)
