Why she might be annoying:

She's an Indian actress who's never appeared in a Bollywood production.
She has appeared in some really, really awful stuff including at least one of those SyFy Channel 'original movies.'
Her roles usually have something to do with her ethnicity.
Although of average height and build, she strangely tends to appear smaller physically than she actually is.
    She studied sociology in college.

Why she might not be annoying:

That really is her last name and has nothing to do with what it means in English.
Though extremely attractive, her roles aren't just cute chick parts and often have some depth to them.
She's been a regular or semi-regular on five different TV series.
She joined the Star Trek franchise with 2013's Star Trek: Into Darkness.
She looks far younger than her actual age.
She took ten years of dance classes growing up concentrating on ballet.
She was the first woman of Indian descent to perform in a lead role in a Shakespearean play at the annual Stratford Festival in England.
