Why he might be annoying:

His band Alien Project split up just as he was on the verge of signing a record contract.
After early disappointments in the recording industry, he decided he would be better off working at his stepfather's turkey ranch.
After only two solo albums, he released a Greatest Hits package.
Many have commented that his solo work sounded too similar to that of Journey.
He is remembered more for his work with Journey than for his solo efforts.
He is a vegetarian.

Why he might not be annoying:

His work with Journey lead them to become one of the top acts of their time.
After Journey's ninth album, he took time off to care for his sick mother.
He was later ousted from Journey after choosing corrective hip surgery over touring with the band.
Needless to say, he doesn't speak fondly of his former band members (can you blame him?).
He has one of the most distinctive voices in rock music.
