Head coach of the University of North Dakota men's hockey team (2004-15), Philadelphia Flyers (2015-18) and the Seattle Kraken
Assistant coach for the University of North Dakota men's ice hockey team (2000-04) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (2019-21)

Why he might be annoying:

He never played a game in the NHL.
His tenure with the Flyers was plagued with inconsistency.
He was deemed as being in way over his head with the Flyers, when he accepted the head coaching position.
His hiring with the Flyers was largely in part to the fact he coached then-general manager Ron Hextall's son at UND.
His inaugural season with the Kraken was plagued with both inconsistency and poor play.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a star defenseman at the University of North Dakota.
He guided UND to seven appearances in the NCAA Frozen Four tournament during his eleven season run.
He was the first coach since 'Badger' Bob Johnson to go directly from the NCAA to the NHL.
He guided the Flyers to two playoff berths in his first three seasons with the team
His familiarity with Kraken general manager Ron Francis from working alongside him with Team Canada, earned him the head coaching position (at least it wasn't Bill Peters).
He was the first head coach in the history of the Kraken franchise.
