    He sang love songs with his sister.
    He was addicted to Quaaludes.
    He was extremely clingy and controlling of his sister.
    He was extremely unhappy with Karen when she contemplated a solo career.
    Twenty years after his sister’s death, he moved her casket to another cemetery.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He attempted to get Karen help for her problem with anorexia.
    After his sister’s death he developed a fund to research and create greater public awareness of anorexia.
    He released Karen’s shelved solo songs in 1996.
    The Carpenters harmonized beautifully together.
