Why he might be annoying:

He believes himself to be the reincarnation of the Hindu god, Shiva.
He predicts that the world will soon end, and he himself will lead the survivors.
He and his followers released the nerve gas sarin into subway stations in Matsumoto and Tokyo (1994-1995).
The two poison gas attacks killed at least seven innocent people and injured hundreds more.
He was arrested on charges of murder and kidnapping (1995).
His trial lasted for nearly eight years, finally ending with his conviction with 13 counts of murder (2004).

He is nearly blind.
At the peak of his power, he had nearly 10,000 followers.
There was an unsuccessful attempt to break him out of prison (2000).
He is facing the death penalty.
