    Albums include ‘The Blackbyrds (1973) ’ ‘City Life (1975)’ and ‘Greatest Hits (1980)’
    Singles include ‘Walking in Rhythm’ and ‘Rock Creek Park’
    The group consisted mainly of students at Howard University.
    Hall and Jacobs were the only original members born in Washington.
    They had an unusually large score of ‘Best Of’ albums for their time.
    When George Duke replaced Byrd, the group sound became more tepid.
