Played for the Toronto Maple Leafs (1977-80) and Minnesota North Stars (1984-88).
Head coach for the Anaheim Mighty Ducks (1993-97), Washington Capitals (1997-2002), San Jose Sharks (2003-08) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (2008-12)

He is frequently confused with former player 'Dog' Wilson.
He was fired as Ducks head coach after leading the franchise to its first ever playoff appearance (1997).
He played sparingly for the Leafs during the 'Ballard Years.'
