The Resume

    (June 3, 1975- )
Born in Jackson (East Feliciana Parish), Louisiana
    Erick Woods Erickson
    Right wing 'conservative' blogger
Host of 'Atlanta's Evening News with Erick Erickson' radio broadcast
Former editor-in-chief and CEO of the conservative political blog, RedState (2005-2014)
Contributing pundit for CNN (2010-2013) and Fox News Channel (2013 - )
Launched the conservative website, The Resurgent (Jan. 2016)
Author of 'Red State Uprising: How to Take Back America' (2010) and 'Before You Wake: Life Lessons from a Father to His Children' (2017)
Sparked controversy by uninviting then-candidate Donald Trump from a RedState town hall event in Atlanta, citing Trump's comments about Megyn Kelly as 'a bridge too far' (Aug. 7, 2015)

Why he might be annoying:

He was a professional pre-Alt Right internet troll.
Google searches for his name turn up content related to a famous German developmental child psychiatrist.
He coined the term 'Abortion Barbie' to describe Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis.
He was criticized for tweeting that then-retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter was 'a goat fucking child molester.'
That same year, he joked that President Obama was chosen to receive a Nobel Peace Prize due to an 'affirmative action quota.'
He drew criticism during a Fox Business Network interview in which he suggested that males dominate females 'in the natural world' and it was only 'science' for men to be the breadwinners (Nov. 2013).
He has a history of making disparaging and sexist comments towards women, but acted shocked when Donald Trump made a vague reference to menstruation when talking about Megyn Kelly.
Trump responded to his announcement with a statement eviscerating him, calling him 'a deviant' and 'a total loser' before pointing out to his own history of misogyny (e.g. calling Michelle Obama 'a Marxist harpy' in a 2008 blog).
His grandstanding also resulted in Bristol Palin taking to her Patheos blog to virtually bitch-slap the guy, alleging that he had displayed sexism toward her mother (e.g. publishing a doctored photo of her sitting in Santa's lap wearing a revealing blouse).
He never quite got over the hit his popularity took after challenging Trump, and later delivered a cold rebuke to Trump's supporters: 'You people reflect the evil character of your god. You should be ashamed, but you have no shame left … You all deserve to be defeated and annihilated. You disgust me in cheering him on. He disgusts me. [He] can go to hell and perhaps you will do the rest of us a favor and follow him there. Shame on you all!' (harsh...)

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been called 'one of the most powerful conservative voices in the United States.'
He went to school at the American School of Dubai (his family lived in the United Arab Emirates for ten years).
He earned a law degree from Mercer’s Walter F. George School of Law.
He served a four-year term as a Republican member of the Macon, Georgia city council.
He attested to receiving death threats from several unhinged Trump supporters after the feud subsided.
He apologized for his remarks about Justice Souter and Michelle Obama.
He declined to walk back on the 'science' comments about gender roles, however, maintaining that he was taken out of context when he made a poor analogy during a heated discussion.
He was diagnosed with blood clots at the same time his wife learned she had a tumor in her lung.
He was one of the first casualties of the election to lose his credibility/following for threatening to derail Donald Trump's bid for the Presidency (another casualty being Megyn Kelly, whom the feud broke out over in the first place).
