The Resume

    (October 10, 1910-December 21, 1976)
Animated the opening for United Productions of America short cartoons (Columbia pictures)
Specialist in the George Lichty stylized animation style, featured in ‘Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs (The Censored 11, 1943)’
Animation credits include ‘George of the Jungle,’ ‘Cartoons for Big Kids,’ ‘Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown’ and ‘It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown’

Why he might be annoying:

He joined Tex Avery’s unit the year before Avery himself left.
His wild style of animation did not initially endear him to the Warner Brothers animation unit.
He quit the ‘Fritz the Cat’ animation team in five days (1972).

Why he might not be annoying:

At least his date of birth is simple to remember (10/10/10).
He specialized in drawing exaggerated and intense facial expressions (which endeared him greatly to Bob Clampett).
His genius extended to Bank of America commercials.
The Warner studios eventually adopted his approach to animation as its house style.
