Music Producer

The Resume

    (September 30, 1962- )
    Born in Queens, New York
    Birth name was Marlon Williams
    Hip-hop DJ/producer
Produced records by LL Cool J, TLC, Big Daddy Kane, Roxanne Shante, Biz Markie, Eric B. and Rakim, Masta Ace, MC Shan and Fat Joe
Recorded the albums 'In Control' (1988), 'In Control Volume II' (1991), 'Re-Entry' (2001), 'Hip Hop Lives' (2007) and 'Operation: Take Back Hip-Hop' (2008)

Why he might be annoying:

He was a major participant in rap's first high-profile feud, the Bridge Wars between Queens and the Bronx. (On the bright side, it didn't produce the body count of the later East Coast-West Coast war.)
Despite boasting about Queens during the Bridge Wars, he abandoned the borough for upstate New York.
His productions were sample-heavy and his career slowed down once artists began demanding payment for sampled records.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was one of the most influential producers in rap.
His 80s productions had a fresher sound thanks to sampled drum loops that avoided tinny-sounding drum machines.
Although they had been on opposite sides of the Bridge Wars, he and KRS-One collaborated on the 'Hip Hop Lives' album.
