    (circa 1875-January 4, 1903)
    Three-ton elephant
Part of the Forepaugh Circus at Luna Park, Coney Island, New York
    Electrocuted for killing three people
She had killed three keepers in three years.
Thomas Edison used her electrocution as propaganda about the dangers of the alternating current promoted by competitor George Westinghouse.
A crowd of 1,500 came to watch her execution.
Edison also had her death filmed to further spread the news.
She killed one handler after he fed her a lit cigarette.
She was originally going to be hanged, but the ASPCA protested that would be cruel and unusual punishment.
She died more quickly than Mary, so the ASPCA may have been right.
Clips from the film of her death were used in videos by Nine Inch Nails and in the Errol Morris documentary 'Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr..'
A memorial to her was erected at the Coney Island Museum (2003).
