    Born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky
    Played for the University of Kentucky (1945-49)
    Member of two NCAA championship teams (1948-49)
    Played in the NBA for the Indianapolis Olympians (1949-51)
    He was banned from the NBA for life after being implicated in a college point-shaving scandal.
    He admitted to taking $500 from gamblers.
    His defense to the point-shaving charges was, 'I was too selfish a basketball player to ever play less than my best.'
    Kentucky coach Adolph Rupp said, 'Ralph was as near to a perfect basketball player as there's ever been.'
    He was member of the gold medal winning US Olympic team (1948).
    He was named to the first ever NBA All-Star team (1951).
