    (May 16, 1977- )
    Born in Kopavogur, Iceland
Recorded the albums 'Love in the Time of Science' (1999), 'Fisherman's Woman' (2005) and 'Me and Armini' (2008)
Sang 'Gollum's Song' during the credits of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' (2002)
At 17, she was attending opera school when she won a song competition performing 'I Will Survive.'
She only got to sing 'Gollum's Song' because Bjork had to drop out after getting pregnant.
When 'The Two Towers' was released in theaters, Bjork was still credited as the singer.
She said, 'I'm a stupid blend of a performer and a shy person. I can get up on stage and really sing - give it everything - but at the same time I'm completely terrified.'
She got proper credit for singing 'Gollum's Song' on the "Two Towers' DVD.
In addition to her own songs, she co-wrote Kylie Minogue's 'Slow,' which was #1 in Britain and on the US dance charts.
Many of the songs on her album 'Fisherman's Woman' were inspired by the death of her boyfriend in a car accident.
