The Resume

    (October 13, 1991- )
    Born in United States
    Resides in Los Angeles, California
    Writer, documentarian, and aspiring actor
Son of billionaire California real estate developer, Rick Caruso, founder of Caruso Affiliated
Came to national attention at the CNN Presidential Debate, after viewers began speculating about the identity of 'the guy sitting behind Jake Tapper' (Sept. 17, 2015)
Dubbed #HotDebateGuy on social media, before being identified as Greg Caruso
Director of the 2015 documentary, 'Making the American Man'

Why he might be annoying:

He admitted to being a 'fan' of George W. Bush.
Cynics have scapegoated 'ditzy teenie-boppers' as being to blame for his 15 minutes of viral fame.
In actuality, however, a majority of the tweets centering on his looks seem to have come from gay or bi-sexual male viewers.
By contrast, many females on social media have come forward dismissing him as 'creepy-looking' and 'reptile-like,' with one commenter even claiming he physically resembled a cross between The Joker and Howdy Doody.
He admitted that he could 'possibly' run for office someday, knowing full well that his only qualification would be that he caught the eye of horny social mediaites while attending a televised debate.
TMZ reacted to his newfound viral celebrity by dryly commenting, 'well, always nice to see the handsome son of a billionaire catch a break!'
His fateful location behind Jake Tapper has inevitably led many to malign Tapper as 'the ugly obstructing the view,' but for a guy his age he's not all that bad looking right?
The attention surrounding him distracted from the actual issues covered in the debate, attracting more coverage than the quality of the candidates' answers.
He claimed he wasn't supporting any particular candidate, but toed the GOP Establishment line by praising the debate performances of Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina (his father is a major Republican campaign donor).

Why he might not be annoying:

He could be a great incentive for younger demographics to follow politics (for better or worse).
He more closely resembles a live version of E.L. James' Christian Grey than Jamie Dornan does.
His casual look is apparently quite scruffy, judging by available photos (he just 'cleans up nice').
He was a standout quarterback/defensive back at Brentwood High, and was named to the All-Alpha League team in 2009.
He probably makes more money than Alex from Target and, unlike Jeremy Meeks, doesn't have a criminal record.
He claimed to have only heard about the attention he was getting via texts from friends during the debate.
He was dubbed 'the real winner' of the GOP Debate, with his name (or just the meme) trending more Google searches than any of the actual candidates.
He joked about his newfound celebrity not going to his head by saying 'it’s pretty hilarious... social media can focus on some guy at the debate instead of the [actual] debate.'
At the time of his new-found popularity on social media, he didn't even have a Twitter or Facebook account, making it impossible for him to be stalked or 'followed.'
He is an avid old movie buff and 1940s film noir fan, his favorite directors being Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, Frank Capra, Howard Hawks, and John Ford.
