The Resume

    (December 1, 1911-October 20, 1999)
    Birth name was Calvin Robertson
Nephew/adopted son of Senators owner Clark Griffith
Owned the Washington Senators (1955-61) and Minnesota Twins (1961-84)

Why he might be annoying:

A few months before relocating the Senators to Minnesota, he said 'This team will never leave Washington as long as I'm alive.'
Griffith said 'I'll tell you why we came to Minnesota. It was when I found out you only had fifteen thousand blacks here.. We came here because you've got good, hard-working white people here' (1978).
The next year, Rod Carew left for the Los Angeles Angels, saying he would no longer work on Griffith's 'plantation.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Although he was the owner's adopted son, he worked his way up through different positions with the Senators, starting as a batboy.
He cried when he sold the Twins.
Many of the key players in the Twins' 1987 World Series victory had been brought up through the farm system Griffith created.
