Best known as Mr. Miyagi in the 'Karate Kid' series (1984-1994)
Acted in 'Thoroughly Modern Millie (1967),' 'Sanford and Son (1974-1975),' 'M*A*S*H (1974),' 'Happy Days (1975-1976),' 'Love Boat (1977-1978),' 'Savannah Smiles (1982),' 'Honeymoon in Vegas (1992),' 'Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1993),' 'Mulan (1998),' 'King Cobra (1999)' and 'Baywatch (2000-2001)'

Why he might be annoying:

His nickname was 'the Hip Nip' (for 'Nipponese').
Although born in the U.S., he usually played 'real' (Asian-born) Asians.
He was often cast in stereotypical Asian roles, including one character named 'Ah Chew.'
Although of Japanese descent, he often played Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese characters.
After making the 'Karate Kid' films, he got typecast as a tough teacher with a heart of gold.
He looked like an Asian Robert Altman.

He was one of the most successful Asian-American actors.
When he was a small child, doctors told him he would never walk, but he did.
He was imprisoned in an internment camp during World War II.
He was the first Asian-American to be nominated for an Oscar.
He ran a restaurant in Hollywood called Miyagi's.
