    (July 28, 1896-January 30, 1926)
Birth name was Raetha Dale Watson
Acted in films 'The Three Musketeers (1921),' 'The Prisoner of Zenda (1922),' 'The Eternal City (1923)' and 'Thy Name is Woman (1934)'
    She was married six times.
Early in her career, she was a burlesque dancer (read: stripper).
She gave up a writing career to become a silent film actress.
    She became addicted to heroin.
The addiction, combined with a constant lack of sleep, tuberculosis and kidney failure killed her.
She had a child out of wedlock and 'adopted' him to avoid scandal.
She was financially generous to her friends and co-workers.
She started the 'bee-stung' lip fad in the 1920's.
Many thought she was one of the most beautiful women of the silent film era.
Louis B. Mayer named Hedy Lamarr in Barbara's honor.
Actress friend Zasu Pitts adopted her illegitimate child.
