    Despite the success he had in high school, Curry did not receive any scholarship offers from major-conference schools.
    He wanted to play basketball at his father's alma mater, Virginia Tech, but they would only accept him as a walk-on player.
    He wrote Biblical verses on his shoes.
    His father also was an NBA player.
    In high school, he was named all-state, all-conference, and team MVP while leading his team to three conference titles and three state playoff appearances.
    In only his second collegiate game against the University of Michigan, he scored 32 points, had four assists, and grabbed nine rebounds.
    He was named an honorable mention in Sports Illustrated's All-Mid-Major.
    He set many school records during his time at Davidson.
    Even though he opted to skip his senior year to join the NBA, he took online summer classes to earn his degree.
    He won a gold medal as part of the US Men's Basketball team that played in the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
    He was acknowledged with the 2011 NBA Sportsmanship Award.
