    Author of 'The Parade’s Gone By (1968)' and 'The War, the West and the 'Wilderness (1979)'
    One of his favorite directors is D.W. Griffith (of 'Birth of a Nation' fame).
    Some describe him as having a large ego.
    His drive for perfection has caused labs to consider 'Brownlow-cide.'
    He is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of silent films.
    He helped restore Abel Gance's 'Napoleon (1927).'
    He was recognized for his work in film preservation and history with a 2011 Honorary Oscar.
    He is essentially 'Cliff Notes' for silent films.
