He played on eight different teams.
The longest he spent on one team was five years.
He shared his name with another pitcher who played around the same time he did, which caused massive confusion among casual fans.
In addition to switch hitting, he was also a switch thrower.

He played in over 700 career games.
He was a member of the Padres team that made their first World Series appearance (1984).
He was the first ambidextrous pitcher to play a game in baseball's modern era.
