He was considered one of professional gridiron football's more nomadic coaches.
He was rumored to be hired as the head coach for a CFL franchise in Jackson, Mississippi that was to come to fruition from a proposed sale and relocation of the Las Vegas Posse, which fell through.

He resigned from the Tiger-Cats after Harold Ballard publicly stated his desire to hire Frank Kush as the team's head coach.
He was the final head coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders franchise.
He was one of a select handful of coaches to coach in high school, college, NFL, CFL, World League and Arena Football.
He earned a Grey Cup ring as the offensive coordinator on Dave Ritchie's coaching staff with the BC Lions (1994).
