He never played in a Super Bowl.
Despite claiming to be religious, he swore at a reporter who asked where he was during 9/11.
He lost the Oklahoma Governor’s race to Brad Henry by less than 7,000 votes (2002).
He was against having the U.S. government shutdown to come to an end (1995).
He was one the people in Congress who tried and failed to drive out Newt Gingrich as U.S. House Speaker.

Why he might not be annoying:

He earned a degree in biology at the University of Tulsa (1976).
He was the most honored player in Seahawks franchise history.
After he retired from pro football, he served as Congressman from Oklahoma (1994-2002).
He won all of his congressional bids with over 60% of the vote.
He recorded 100 touchdown receptions as he was the first NFL receiver to do so.
After Jerry Rice left the Seattle Seahawks, his #80 jersey was retired again (2005).
